In order to contribute to the solution of climate change and global warming problems which threaten the world, We are organizing the project “THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU TRASH” under the coordination of Basaksehir Municipality which is a leader public organization in zero-waste management in Istanbul, within cooperation with Poland, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Italy. We aim to raise awareness in various people in partner countries by giving them recycling training. We aim to increase the quantity of separated waste and recycled waste, to decrease the effects of global warming and climate change, to start a social entrepreneurship movement, to help socio-culturally and economically disadvantaged people to find jobs and be entrepreneurs by the help of training courses teaching how to make decorative items out of waste materials.
With this project, people will get rid of the use of disposable habits, and they will be encouraged to think how can they use waste materials for good benefit. People will separate garbage as household garbage, metals, plastics, paper, glass, and contribute to the country's economy and nature. As a special mission of th project adult people will be encouraged to establish a business with courses on making items from waste materials and improving the sense of entrepreneurship, so that they will learn to be an entrepreneur. Thus, people from different segments will use their creativity, and people will stop discrimination and begin to be tolerant towards each other.
This project is a social inclusion project that is open to all segments of the society who are educated, who have dropped out of their education, who are unemployed, refugees, have little or no financial means. In this project, everyone will be able to find a suitable working area for unity. The unemployed people, those who are in poor financial situation and those who dropped out of school early will be encouraged to start a business and become entrepreneurs. Experts in partner countries will share their good experiences with people who want to start a business and become entrepreneurs.
Our special goal in this project is to equippe adult people with different handcraft courses, including immigrants, refugees, unemployed people, who have dropped out of school early, and those in rural areas with fewer opportunities, which we call the disadvantaged group, to enable them to utilize the wastes and to lead them to reveal their creativity. Also to enable them to establish a business by providing the necessary training to become an entrepreneur.
